1.1 Green as Moss

Previously:
Moss Plantt started his new eco-friendly life in Sunset Valley.  With the help of his neighbor’s newspaper he found a used bed and a job opening at the local military base.  He was not able to find his true love in Central Park, but he did find some seeds for his new garden!

Moss could hardly believe how easy it was!  He showed up at the military base, nice and early, and was soon wearing his new uniform for his new job.  He was worried when the recruiter asked about his fitness.  Moss tried to talk it up, but the recruiter could see the truth in his (lack of) muscle.  But he offered Moss a chance: start out working as a cleaner, and work his way up into the ranks.

Over months Moss fell into a new schedule.  After a long day at work, what free time Moss had was spent working out at the local 24-hour gym.  But even after many nights lifting weights he felt like he was getting no where.  And long nights of weights came at the cost of potential dates!  Moss was struggling through his reps when he saw a familiar face watching him.  It was Victoria Andrews, whom he had met in Central Park.

They chatted a bit, and she was just about to go home to her husband when Moss was struck by an impulse:
Moss: “Just a moment, please.  I was wondering…  Um, do you have any friends?  I mean, friends that like to dance?  I was thinking you might have a friend that could show me around town?”

Moss smiled hopefully at her, but Victoria’s expression was not encouraging.

Victoria: “Look, you seem like a nice guy, but I really don’t know you well enough to be setting you up with my friends.  And I should go now.  Bye.”

Embarrassed and disappointed, Moss gathered his things to go home, too.

Back home, Moss checked out the latest personals with the help of his neighbor’s newspaper.

The hard work was really starting to take its toll on Moss.  All the time spent on work left no time for finding the love of his life.  It was nice to have some money, but was it worth it?  Moss went to bed thinking of what he wanted most from life… a family.

Next time:  Will Moss leave the military to try his luck elsewhere?

<Note: I thought I had posted this nearly a week ago, however it seems it didn’t go through.  Whoops!  Internet problems persist but I should be able to get my next post up in about a week.>
